Our story
Why we built DutyFile.
Across law enforcement, training records live in three-ring binders, scattered spreadsheets, and aging systems that don’t talk to each other. It works — until it doesn’t. When a court date, a POST audit, or a promotion board arrives, agencies scramble to reconstruct a history that should have been at their fingertips. And too often, records simply disappear when the person who kept them moves on.
DutyFile was started by an Advanced Officer Training Sergeant who lived that problem from the inside — responsible for tracking, proving, and defending an entire agency’s training with tools that were never built for the job. DutyFile is the system he wished he’d had: purpose-built for the way training units actually work.
